Reasonable diet: six foods that bodybuilders should be careful about

1. Rice cake

In the 1980s and 1990s, rice cakes were hailed as the ultimate weight-loss food because of their low-fat or even fat-free properties, but this was a foolish idea. The glycemic index of rice cakes is as high as 91, while eating glucose is 100. Excessive consumption will cause blood sugar to rise sharply, which is very detrimental to weight loss and maintaining health.

2. Skim salad dressing

Salad dressings contain vinegar (which controls blood sugar) and vegetable oils (which contain essential fatty acids and antioxidants), but salad dressings are now being produced that also contain high-fructose syrup and additives that are harmful to you.

3. Gluten

Gluten originated in Asia, and many vegetarians use gluten as a meat substitute. Gluten, unlike other soy products, is made entirely of wheat protein, but this protein can easily cause allergies. Gluten should be eaten as little as possible.

4. Refined grains

Refined cereals are also made from grains, such as breakfast cereals, dough and rice products, but the natural fiber, vitamins and minerals have been removed. Even though these foods are no longer nutritious, manufacturers still label them as "whole grains." This rule will make you exclude many carbohydrate foods from supermarket shelves, but natural grains are the safest foods.

5. Sugary drinks

If you were asked to choose one thing on this list of foods you should give up, sugary drinks would be the first choice. This sugar lowers your good cholesterol while raising triglycerides, which is bad for your heart. Sugary drinks can also disrupt the body's inflammation balance and slow the body's recovery. After exercise, you can have a cup of soda, tea or non-calorie drinks, which are all good choices.

6. Coarse cornmeal

Grits are a refined carbohydrate, the small pieces left over from processing corn. Nutritionally, grits are lacking in vitamins and minerals and contain little fiber and some unnecessary fatty acids. Grits are tasteless, but mixed with butter or cream they become delicious, but the downside is blood vessel damage, more sugar and saturated fatty acids.
